Dr. SweeneyDr. Sweeney grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. Like his father, he completed his bachelor’s degree at John Carroll University. Following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather before him, he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Continuing his formal dental education, Dr. Sweeney completed an elective year of advanced training through the hospital based General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Ohio. The next 13 years were spent practicing comprehensive general family dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetics and complex restorative and prosthetic treatments.

Continuing his formal education has always been important, and Dr. Sweeney has been active with The Spear Institute, The Center for Exceptional Practices and multiple study clubs. Additionally, he participated in the surgical and restorative implant fellowship with The Midwest Implant Institute. The desire to continually advance his education led to the decision to return to academics and earn a master’s degree while completing an orthodontic specialty residency. Dr. Sweeney’s research regarding patient satisfaction with Invisalign was published in a leading orthodontic journal.
